In just a few days, America will make a decision for right or wrong. In my opinion-no matter how you cut it-that’s the decision people will make. I am astounded at the number of Christians–and I want even say “‘god-fearing”– who are making their decision based on the economy. First of all-the problems with the economy are the results of careless oversight of both parties. There’s enough blame to go around. But be assured of this, if Obama-a Man who does not beleive or practice the moral mandates of Scripture gets in office, it is the fault of those who call themselves Christians and yet subvert the truth because of the selfish-self-centered-relativist character of the church today. The flood gates of liberalism and compromise will be open wider than ever before once Obama takes office-if this is to happen. Perhaps we have left “the former things” in order to be “relative and creative” in an attempt to help God out in saving the world, and have thus left the purity of the gospel which includes repentance, faith, transformation, and seperation from the ideals and strongholds of the world. I am all for creativity and relative methods in our churches, but I am also dis-heartened by the number of pastors who in the midst of their “growing” mega-churches do not even sound forth the importance from their pulpits the need to be involved in the political process and couching it in the excuse of “seperation of church and state”. We cannot cease to be Light and Salt. Our candles are going dimmer in America ! Remember the French Historian who said–”…America is great, because America is good, when America ceases to be good America will cease to be great!” Revive us again-O Lord –bring us out of the deception of the enemy who blinds the eyes of God’s people. Start with me!

I beleive as we anticipate God moving supernaturally amoung His people, and ask Him to do so expecting His blessing and favor, He will show up. This morning-I am preparing for a new series entitled “Family Matters”. My heart and prayer is that I do not merely give another “family series” but that He will take the words of my mouth and make them sound forth His Word in a way that will convict, encourage and motivate people to make changes that will in turn have an effect on the Lost. I pray that stubborn hearts will wake up and be open to renewal and revival like never before. If you are reading this blog before 10:30 am this morning –please pray with me that God would rain down His spirit like never before on the congregation of GraceView. You may be the only one reading before our service begins. Then again–no one may read. I will still pray and believe God will move hearts.

*ISN’T IT GREAT TO KNOW WHO IS REALLY IN CONTROL?!!*

I am not smart enough to give an educated opinion on the bail out. My gut feeling is to listen to those I trust know more than I know. I am hoping it passes in the House like it did in the Senate last night. Even with the bail-out, it appears our country is in for some tough times ahead. And then again–just maybe-God will show favor to America–if we will only turn our hearts and focus back to the judeo christian values of God’s Word. No matter what happens to America, I know–for you and me–if we humble ourselves–and turn from our sin–and forget listening to the talk show host and latest tv hit—we might be able to hear the voice of God—and if we face Him with no reservations, He will shed his grace on us personally no doubt, and His grace will be sufficient for us in the next days ahead –as they say –come “hell or high water”. In our weakness He is strong!

There’s an old chorus called “In His Time” we have sung for years. “..He makes all things beautiful-in His time..” Yesterday morning was one of those times. The relative I wrote about in my last blog–accepted Christ about 10 days ago after saying no for so long with a hardened heart. God softened that heart–and he accepted Christ. And now–just a few houes ago-Sunday morning-he left this world and went into the arms of His savior. His family prayed faithfully and tirelessly for days-months–even years. The Spirit of God tugged after His heart, and God saw fit to extend His life until he allowed the Spirit to save his lost and dying soul. Don’t give up praying for you relatives or friends. God listens and hears.
